You're the first to see

Give me your thoughts. I think...

Thanks for following our efforts. I’ve spent hours upon hours upon hours prepping for this week. It’s the week of the release of our bellwether podcast production, The Leadership Room with Travis Fitzwater.

I’m excited to have come up with a name. Below are some of the images we’ve created as well. We are one day away from a full month into this thing, building a media company, and we couldn’t be busier with every detail of starting a business like this. We keep moving forward nonetheless.

We have three episodes live on my YouTube channel as we speak. You are the first to know about them! Give us your thoughts. What do you think? Could you listen to them, or a portion of them, and tell us where we can improve?

Here’s where I think we are with these audio/video endeavors:

  1. We have great audio (for the most part) in my studio. I’m still learning about audio levels. I’m also producing all this content by myself. It’s crazily time consuming. I’ve spent so many hours creating this content and working on it post-production.

  2. Editing a podcast, video and audio, is difficult due to the time intensive nature. And our podcasts are long, so it takes even longer to go line by line through them. It’s going to be choppy for a while, so know that we know it’s choppy. The content is still important.

  3. I’m good in moments as a talking head and really bad in others. As I edit these things imposter syndrome goes into hyper drive. I sound dumb. I ramble. I take too long to ask a question then I don’t shut up. I say “you know” endlessly. Areas to improve, but areas we WILL improve in. We know we are at the beginning, so being consistent and learning and growing is going to be crucial here.

  4. They’re long episodes. Some of the content can get long in the tooth, I assume. But with repurposing, we can take some of that and pull out punchy highlights. That’s the model for our business. We will keep at it and adapt as we see fit.

  5. We know we haven’t arrived, so to speak. Maybe we change the name. Maybe we change the theme. I’m so deeply interested in faith, leadership, and business, it seemed like the right focus for now as we build this thing.

The idea behind this podcast offering is many fold. Firstly, it’s to build a brand for Kardia Media. Secondly, it shows we have the chops to produce this stuff. Thirdly, it connects us with people we want to talk to and think you should want to hear from. Fourth, these stories are inspiring. Yes, they’re long episodes, but they’re going to have some nuggets in there that are worth the time. Finally, it’s an area of passion for me and it allows me to connect with my network. Wins all around.

The 1st and 2nd official episodes are live on YouTube as well. The intro episode gives you a two and a half minute rundown of what we’re trying to produce. The following episodes are long form interviews from two gentlemen who have incredible stories. I hope you enjoy them. Images from those episodes are below. Thanks for following along.

God bless,
